Basic Autoelectrics

A foundation course for technicians covering the following:
- Open & short circuits
- Use of Digital Multimeters, Power Probes to measure voltage current & resistence
- Fuses and relays - proof testing
- Loom corrosion, volt drop testing and circuit integrity testing
- Jointing & connectivity
- Battery, alternator and parasitic drain analysis and testing
- Smart charge & rotating electrics
- Understanding wiring diagrams, use of wiring diagram and test equipment to locate and prove cause of fault
- Canbus technology principle and testing methods
- Practical workshop examples and exercises
Basic Engine Management
Sunday 8th May 2011 - Fully Booked
Sunday 12th June 2011
A foundation course for technicians covering the following:
- EOBD applicability & connectivity
- Generic scantool use - retrieval of DTC's
- Test plans
- Interpreting live data
- Actuator tests
- Use of smoke machines, DMM, Scope, pressure testing
- Service resets etc.
- For this course we will use generic tools such as DEC SS2, CS Lite, X431, VCDS, Smoke Pro etc.
